Underwear for Spring/Summer 2014 finds its inspiration in the colour, positive outlook and freshness of Brazil and its culture. Brazilian architects such as Oscar Niemeyer and his curvilinear aesthetics lend the symbology of their works to the brand, which is reflected in the forms, styles and colours of the new collection.
The new collection is divided into three large groups: Young, Timeless and Trendy. Each of them has its own well-defined characteristics, and all of them are aimed toward the various men who wear Impetus.
In the Young category, designed for the modern, urban man, the models of the articles are shorter, and for the most part are in radiant colours; the design is concise for the modern man. The diversity of colours and contrasts is present in the lines such as Axé and Dendê, which come in tones of red, blue, lime green, coal grey, and yellow, besides black and optical white. The most daring proposal is found in the Nago line, woven in cotton with a well-spaced weft, and a sophisticated knit waistband.
In Trendy, the category that is the most innovative in terms of style, the most fashionable lines of the brand stand out, in which high-tech fibres are used: The Didi line presents fashion colours such as mint green; ruby and petroleum blue, with subtle stripes produced by ribbing. In this category, one also finds premium lines such as Ossaim and Uraiti, made in Lyocell, a cellulose fibre of the latest generation, developed from wood and featuring a superior quality of sensitivity and breathing for the skin.
In Timeless, which interprets the more classic tastes and absolute comfort, the articles are essentially more basic, with cotton being a major component in the composition of the fabrics, which are in solid colours, as in the pack of the Bantu line, or offer more classic or retro designs. Prints are also very important and bring a new fresh look to the Spring/Summer collection with designs of “sailor’s knots” over the entire fabric of the Ewe line, wide stripes that are clearly nautical in their inspiration bearing an imprint of the year of launching of Impetus on the side in the Caruru line, and micromotifs of pixels in the Oka line, which reintroduces a feeling of retro luxury. The fabrics that imitate denim or chambray also appear in the Timeless category, as in the Egba line, which is made of cotton and polyamide and contrasting seams.
